What do Audiences 'get' Out of Watching Music Videos
In this video many forms of Blumer, Lazerfield and Katz theory to get the audience something out of the video. The first example of this is in the opening of the music video when the man smashes through the roof, this makes the world they are in seem serial which makes the audience intrigued in the video and to see where the video goes.
Another main aspect of the video which intrigues the audience and allows them get something out of the video is the comedic dancing, all the abstract and exaggerated dance moves allows the audience to laugh and enjoy the music, here are examples of this.

To create a personal connection with the audience towards the end of the video they have made the atmosphere of a house party which ties in with the type of music being played that being electric which is normally associated with partying. By doing this it makes the people who are watching the video have similarities with what is happening in the music video as well as connect with the video.
House Party atmosphere
In Taylor Swifts 'Blank Space' great examples of Blumer, Lazerfield and Katz theory can be seen. The first half of the video diversion can be seen by showing an extravagant lifestyle, this can be seen in the image above with the setting of the music video being in a incredibly large mansion as well as the use of a fancy sports car. More examples of the extravagant lifestyle can be seen here:
Large banquet shows extravagance
Extravagant clothing and large house in background
Fancy lights and furniture as well as two white horses
The second half of the video is when the use of personal experience plays a role in creating an audience in the video. We can see that Taylor Swift begins arguing with her lover which creates a connection with her target audience (teenage girls) who experience love ache with boys.
Couple arguing, target audience can relate to this
