For my idea 2 the song I want to use is "Wicked Waters" by Benjamin Booker, this song is very upbeat and has a fast pace to it. The kind of video I imagine to go along with this kind of music and artist is going to be quite genuine in my eyes so rather than try to tell a story or have something that isn't realistic I believe the music video should aim to look like a live performance but with different aspects. What I mean by this is throughout the whole music video it is just a performance, no cutting to a separate story but the scene of where the song is being played can change, the lighting can also change to make it more realistic. Another way to make it seem more like a performance rather than a music video is rather than have locked off shots of the singer you keep the camera slightly moving or you can create nice more creative camera movement such as moving from the guitar to his face in camera. A good example of this is a studio recording of one of his other songs.
When it comes to lighting it's important to make it look as natural as possible but for the final part of the song what I imagine is a wall of lights behind them pulsing with only the singer who plays the guitar and the only other member is a drummer. So the general Idea is to try and make the whole video seem like a performance by making the artist perform but not to the camera and make it seem as natural as possible. Another music video slightly similar is The Black Keys, Gold on The Ceiling, It uses mainly shots from their actual gigs which would be quite hard to achieve but is a good example of showing what I would like to try and achieve.
