Music Video | Idea 1

My first idea for a music video is to the song "Friend (Lover)" by Evenings, the type of music is very tranquil and is part of the chillwave genre, which includes things like abstract beats and modified vocals. Due to the song being electronic and not having a obvious front man and other musical instruments such a guitar and drums I feel like the music video should stay with the theme of the music and stay abstract. So my idea for the music video is by using different liquids such as food dyes, paint, soap, milk, and more extravagant things like ferro fluid you can achieve very cool looking and abstract shapes, here is two examples.

Research From Stanford University

Food Dye and Milk Tray

Ferrofluid

By using these techniques and by filming very close up the actual frame would look very interesting and fit the theme of the music video, the music slowly builds up and dyes out towards the end so you could have an explosion of colour and effects. But it would get quite tedious if all that was seen was the same sort of effects this is why you could use the ferro fluid. What makes ferro fluid very interesting is that it is magnetic which means it can be manipulated and also makes very cool looking shapes that look almost impossible e.g

This means to make the video have somewhat of a story you could follow little black dots of ferro fluid through the video travelling across these landscapes of colourful liquids and in the end all coming together to create a cool looking object such as the one pictured above.
