Literal Video Task

After learning about Goodwin theory and how music videos fall into three categories, illustration, amplification and disjuncture. In this task we discovered the illustration part and learnt all about literal music videos. The official definition is 'literal music video, also called a literal video version, is a parody of an official music video clip in which the lyrics have been replaced with lyrics that describe the visuals in the video'. We watched an example which helped us start coming up with ideas.

After watching the video we split up into groups and chose a song to turn into a literal music video, we did Ellie Goulding's, Love Me Like You Do. In our groups we split up into different sub teams to produce the video as quickly as possible, me and Rory worked on getting the video and recording the lyrics and synching it up with the audio. The rest of the group worked on creating the lyrics, this was very effective as it allowed the video to be created as more efficiently. This has helped me understand when it comes to creating music videos about teamwork as well as some ideas about the actual music video we are going to create next term.
