Shoot Day Part 2

On the day of the actual shoot the role that I took the position of cameraman for the whole day, I was very happy with this as this is the future profession I want to go into to, Lucy was in charge of playback and Crerar directed. I personally felt that throughout the day my camera work improved and that I was able to get more creative the further we got through the shoot .

In my opinion I think the shoot in the studio went very well as we could control the lighting and get it too look exactly how we wanted it to. It was also very easy to set up the shots as we were in a controlled area. I wish we had more time on location, due to the set design taking quite a while in the morning we weren't able to have a decent amount of time at the gunpowder mills. This caused us to lose light quite quickly so I don't feel like we got enough shots of them or different sequences to put in the video.

When it came to managing our talent I think we were able to do so, they were very easy to work with and did what they were told. In the morning we were able to find the right outfits for them and make shore that they look the part. Bellow is a bunch of pictures showing off what they wore on the shoot day.

In my opinion my favourite part of the shoot day was just being able to operate the camera. I got to get creative with focus pulls and pans and chose what would look best in the final product. I look forward to working on what I have shot in the edit suit and a really can't wait to cut together the stuff we filmed on location as well as colour grading the whole project. I feel that as a team we all worked extremely well and were a great team and played of each others strengths as well as help with each others weaknesses.

By far the most important thing I learnt was sticking to the schedule and make sure everything is prepped for the day. If this isn't done it can cause a lot of chaos and make you lose precious filming time. I believe what we shot on the day will match what we wanted to create for our website and Album cover and will create a solid campaign which carries continuity throughout.
