Task 1: Conventions of Digipak

Conventions are arrangements which dictate the way that something is usually recognised. These normalities are recognised by culture which helps the audience recognise what genre the item of work belongs in. Seeing as our artist is quite abstract it is quite important to play to this to make sure our audience know what they are buying.

So our CD digipak will include some form photograph or graphics on the front, the name of the album and the name of the artist clearly in view so the audience know what they are buying. These all make up the basics of a CD digipak. Our Genre of music is alternative R&B and acid jazz therefore we kneed to follow the conventions of this genre which includes deep toned colours, clear representations of the artist in an abstract form. Bellow is some inspiration that we took.
